Message From President

Message from the President

Thank you for your interest in the Briermost Foundation. As President, I am honored to share the heart of our mission and the women we are privileged to serve.

Founded in 2016, Briermost is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing safe, sober, and supportive housing for women in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. We focus exclusively on women because they remain among the most underserved in recovery—and too often leave treatment with nowhere safe or stable to call home.

At Briermost, housing is only the beginning. We build a compassionate, accountable community where women can heal, grow, and rediscover their strength. Through long-term support, we help residents develop the tools necessary for lasting recovery and independent living. Our programs include workforce development, résumé writing, money management, conflict resolution, and essential life-skills training—because recovery thrives when dignity, purpose, and opportunity are restored together.

In addition to safe housing, we walk alongside our residents as they transition from detox or inpatient treatment, connect with recovery events and supportive communities, strengthen self-respect and healthy relationships, and access outpatient treatment, mental health therapy, and vocational services when needed.

Today, we operate four recovery homes and a small working farm in Cuyahoga County, creating environments that foster responsibility, connection, and hope. For more than a decade, we have seen lives transformed when women are given not just a second chance, but the time, structure, and support to truly rebuild.

Briermost exists because recovery is possible when women are supported, believed in, and given a place to belong. Every day, we witness courage, resilience, and renewal—and we are deeply grateful to all who stand with us in this mission.

We have a passion for continued success in helping those in need.  If you share our passion, please consider a donation to help us sustain our quality programs.
